All in all, not a bad day today
Much the same as others, it went the same way
Pretty unimportant and ordinary sort
Where you can only learn what you want to be taught
Started to enjoy work and the people, mostly
Started to smile and take it less seriously
Karen’s off tomorrow and I’m doing lates
It gives time together as housemates
We’ll chat the chat and the breeze we’ll punch
And as a treat I’ll cook burgers for lunch
Just watched the film about Ian Dury
A man who was messed up, purely
Incredible talent and heartfelt as well
It took the Big Serkis to make the big sell
It was beautifully shot, and at times uncomfortable
Reminding all not to dis the disable
You can achieve what you want, just go and get it
If you don’t take a chance you can never regret it
A poet, a chap, a geezer and a gent
