November 24th

Nowhere does Christmas like New York
They light the lights and pop the cork
Each building is more magnificent
The brighter the lights the less efficient
But no one seems to bat an eye
Except the stopping passers by
Trees and windows full of swank
8 foot soldiers outside a bank
Even the corporate trucks and cars
Are decorated with snow and stars
And for the intrepid Jewish explorer
You'll find the occasional menorah
The outsides of Macy's and Bloomingdales
both have their special window trails
Thy incorporate a Christmas mantra
And people pay and queue for Santa
Back in the UK it's a bit of a flop
How will Santa know where to stop
New York has decked the halls with holly
And it tis the season to feel jolly
