October 2nd

It's started off, innocently, it was nobody’s fault
It was just between you and two consenting adults
It was nothing serious back when we begun
From back then when we started look at how far we've come
I was a younger, skinnier me, playing with your time
You looked as you do now, all sweetness and sublime
We were just messing around but something had begun
From back then when we started look at how far we've come
It was good when we started and it’s grown into great
Though I've got heavier, I'm still punching above my weight
I'm letting you know what we're doing can never be undone
From back then when we started look at how far we've come
I've never been one for faith or divine ability
I don’t think that a god would've been able to foresee
But if Moses hadn't parted them, the red sea I’d have swum
From back then when we started look at how far we've come
You're always easy to write about during my daily introspection
You have one fault alone that is you suffer from perfection
I put my hand in to life's pie and I pulled the nicest plumb
From back then when we started look at how far we've come
You give my life purpose guidance and complete synergy
You my greatest needs and wants, my likes and allergies
I'd throw myself into a swarm of bees and happily get stung
From back then when we started look at how far we've come
I'm not one for exercise I think it completely over-rated
We have put it off from the day that we first dated
But for you I'd get on a treadmill and a marathon I'd run
From back then when we started look at how far we've come
