April 21st

Can’t wait to get this morning’s shift over with
Finish at work then three days to live
Three days to laze in the sun
Three days to eat hot cross buns
Time off with the Mrs makes me glad
Not every day, but two out of three ain’t bad
We both finished by four o’clock
Drove past the M25, bank holiday road block
All lanes are busy, the traffic starts to clog
It’s going to take three days to clear the back log
We had dinner but then couldn’t decide
Whether to stay in or go out for a ride
Ended up heading out to find a new pub
Where we can take the family out for some grub
The Cricketers on a green in Horsell
With a children’s play area out the back as well
It’s one to keep locked in the memory bank
For when we need to dredge the pub think tank
Trying to think where to buy a suit for the wedding
So tomorrow we are on our way to Reading
It has a lovely shopping centre and a grand food hall
So in our future I see a trip to the Oracle
We’ll see what it has and whether it fits
Or if I’ll have to breathe in a little bit
Some positive news too, we’ve just had some pay
It looks like it’s going to be a very Good Friday
