April 22nd

Up in the morning after a little lie in
The Reading adventure about to begin
Want to find a wedding suit if I can
At least I’ll be the Best ‘dressed’ Man
Jump on the train and off to Reading
Basingstoke or Guildford first which way are we heading?
Decided it was much of a muchness, both the same
So to the Woking station to play the waiting game
In a vain attempt to save some dosh
We packed two drinks and some fruit to nosh
Didn’t want to shell out for lunch as had limited wad
So cooked breakfast using our new poach pod
Beans on toast with perfect poached eggs
And the sun was shining so out came the legs
Got to Reading and wandered to the town
Do we start at the bottom and go up or the top and go down?
Ended up trying most of the shops for men
Trying on suits, trousers and waistcoats again and again
Settle on the one I had initially like in Woking
With a waistcoat to stop my belly from outwardly poking
That was that, we headed back to the train
Reading is lovely, we will be back again
Wife didn’t get anything; she said that she would make do
So out come the ribbons buttons, tape and glue
I know it’s not in my direction that people will stare
But it’s always nice to have a new suit to wear
