The realignment of paths diversed
The difficulties of roads traversed
A realisation of a frienships worth
Rekindled with a song
I used to see you on a day to day basis
Unified by our remote oasis
We sat still but travellers places
Buddy it's been too long
When we meet it will be like then
We were just boys but now were men
Take no time to get back again
Happily turn back the page
Been waiting to see you today
To talk of memories of our yesterday
Grown up in that child-like way
Good friend never age
Nothing fills me with more pride
Than when strangers positively collide
the inner talent drawn outside
No reasons, its just because
And so I travel through waterloo
compelled by memories of you
Jumping in our kangaroo
Just great is how it was

November 22nd
I've
walked along the Hudson
I've
seen the lights on Broadway
I've
seen yellow cabs by the dozen
I've
opened up the New York doorway
I've
waited wished and wanted
To
see your sky rise blocks
and
now my dreams are haunted
And
I don't want that feeling to stop
New
York I kept you waiting
A
diamond that rose from the sea
Now,
New York and I are dating
I
hope that New York loves me
I've
toured around your well know sights
I've
explored your concrete jungle
I've
stood upon your highest heights
and
felt so lucky and humble
I
have been there, I did explore
I
would like the clocks to rewind
I
might not be in New York any more
But
New York is forever in my mind
November 21st
I've
heard all the songs written about you
I
come here to find out if it's all true
Can
one place hold such emotion
attracting
fans with unlimited devotion
Are
the neon lights bright on Broadway
can
you convince me to do it your way
I've
shelved all the hype and all the talk
To
find out for myself New York New York
I'll
take a walk around Central Park
I'll
see the lights burning through the dark
I
walk your streets and avenues
I'll
climb your towers and see your views
Keep
my eyes open as the streets I trudge
The
greatest city? I'll be the judge
Okay,
after a week of vinyl revision
I
can now reveal my final decision
New
York, you are the greatest place
You
seem to run the human race
I
never really had any doubt
But
I had to come to find out
November 20th
I'm
in a strange town in a new country
But
the surroundings feel so warm and comfy
It's
not as big or scary as feared
A
peculiar feeling of not feeling weird
It
normally takes me a couple of days
to
get used to 'their' localised ways
But
we connected almost instantaneously
and
now we are getting on quite famously
With
you I've been wanting to spend my time
You
showed me yours and I showed you mine
You
had so much to live up to
So
many things wanted to see and do
About
you, I've been positively vocal
And
so you treat me as a local
You
gave me all that you could give
the
rest of my days I will happily live
You
had me smiling from the start
I'm
wearing a t shirt with an NY heart
I'm
saddened as my bags I pack
I
love you New York, I will be back
November 19th
As
the plane gets closer to the ground
and
my New York is still unfound
this
is the last write before the big reveal
Before
my mind is city filled
no
more will I be able to dream
of
that city as yet unseen
The
place that has always been
The
corner of my room, my TV screen
The
last time that my imagination
will
be the place of my infatuation
I'm
going to land and look around
Get
to know this mystery town
I
read the books, seen the shows
I've
seen you highs, middles and lows
You're
the place that's filled my mind
And
now you're there for me to find
So
New York New York, we can't lose
I'm
here now to start spreading the news
November 18th
A
story I need you all to heed
Of
me, my dad and Peter Reid
A
great thing happened one Saturday
We
drove down south to see the Saints play
I
tried to recall it as it happened
Flashed
into the car park by Micky Adams
Headed
towards the ground & as we got nearer
We
were handed our tickets by a young Alan Shearer
One
of the greatest days I've ever had
Me,
Peter Reid and my Dad
I
don't remember much about the football
A
score draw I think, quite forgettable
Final
whistle, that’s it, all over me thinks
No,
invited into the players lounge for drinks
Coke
and crisps and take a seat
Ill
prepared for who we'll meet
Legends,
well you decide
Dave
took it all in his stride
Alan
Shearer, Jimmy Case, and Tim Flowers
Big
Dave Beasent loftily towers
A
more crisps and a second coke
Then
we are joined the greatest bloke
A
gentleman it's quickly agreed
Me,
my dad and Peter Reid
He
broke in to his collection stories
of
past bust ups and former glories
A
true Evertonion the air turned blue
As
he recalled what he used to do
He
realised that a child heard what he'd said
He
apologised profusely and patted my head
An
amazing experience, what joy, what luck
Dave
fitted in as if Jimmy Tarbuck
The
stories stayed with me as I've grown
Dave
drove me safely home
My
adventures have yet to exceed
Me
, my dad and Peter Reid
November 17th
it's
finally here, I've waited for so long
tall
stories and imagery strong
I'm
getting lost in those famous streets
Waking
up the city that never sleeps
I'm
city swimming as my dreams envelope
Drowning
in areas over developed
I'm
walking round with others advice
Learning
why they named it twice
I'll
see as much as possible to see
I'll
find out if New York's been missing me
The
city that moves at such a pace
trying
to win the human race
by
locals and tourist it's loved and adored
but
it's as yet Gav unexplored
I'm
sure it'll will live up to the talk
And
I'm sure I will love New York
